I hope this post finds you happy and having a good day! I thought I would make this outfit post a little different then a usual one describing why I love it and where the pieces are from. I wanted to talk about finding my style and my style evolution.
I am about to graduate college in a year to give a little back round about what I mean with evolution. When I started college I was still dressing the way I did in high school and a lot of the pieces I was wearing even though they were in style, the shape and the cut I think were all wrong for my body. I am barely 5'2" and as college progressed and I stopped playing soccer 7 days a week my body changed to become more on the curvier side even though it doesn't look that way in these pictures. (know your angles lol)
It was tough letting go of what I thought looked "good" on me and what I thought was my style. I had to reevaluate what looked good on me and my new found hips/booty haha. There was a lot of trial and error there still is but I think I am finally finding my style and the pieces I love to wear.
I have also learned that you don't have to wear exactly what is in style if it doesn't fit your body type. This was hard for me I wanted to always wear what was in and new but sometimes those pieces just did NOT workout out for me and that is okay.
I choose this outfit to talk about this subject because its a good representation of an outfit/ style I really enjoy wearing. A loose button down, tight distressed jeans, and whatever shoes I am feeling that day. I don't always like showing my curves so I will either choose a tight top & loose pants or loose top and tight pants. That way I don't feel I am showing every aspect of my body.
All in all try to not be afraid to reevaluate your style if you don't think it's working for you anymore. It is okay for things to not look good on you the way they do on others. Sorry for the long post but a lot of people have come to me and said you have a "perfect body" and "perfect style" neither of which I will say I have but I am also proud of the lengths I have gone to with my body and how I dress it to make myself feel more confident again!
Have a great day XO
