I am back finally, I know long time no talk or post for that matter. To fill you in on life right now I have started last year in college, said goodbye to my bf (he is going to college in Montana right now), had a serious sinus infection, and a few things in between but I won't bore you.
Can you believe we are already in September?? Most times I truly don't enjoy time going by so quickly unless its the time period where summer is dwindling away and fall is upon us. I will let you in on a secret Fall is my absolute FAVORITE season. Sorry for the aggressive capitals there but I can't express enough how much I love Fall. Fall is magic to me sounds weird I know. But we are close you guys, autumn officially begins the 22nd!!
That brings me to this post talking all about my pre-fall essentials. Pre-fall can be a bit awkward because atleast where I live its not cold yet but not super hot either, clothing stores are only starting to turn over to autumn appropriate styles, yet there is already halloween candy in stores. You get the gist. Its a bit of a mixed bag so it can be hard to feel like you are preparing for it.
I am here to help not to worry!
My 1st essential is Fall Decor: There is no better way to get into the feeling of fall then to buy some fall inspired homeware/ candles. I love to go to Target for signs and fun fall related items because they aren't too expensive but are still really cute. I also really love to buy candles ( i am candle opposed so maybe I'll do a full post on this) but I think scents and smells really bring on feelings. So I love to buy two or three oops fall candles a season. So this year I went to Bath & Body Works and purchased a few. None of the sweet ones though I am not of fan of those sickly sweet scents. I love the wood and spicey ones.
My 2nd essential is shopping for fall related pieces: Now this can be tricky because like I said above most stores are just starting to incorporate fall related items into their stores so you won't have the biggest selection. This is actually a good thing! I only buy a few fall items during this time to get me in the mood but I wait until october/november to really purchase fall clothing because the selection is much better!
My 3rd essential is cooking or eating fall related items: This essential is for people who don't necessarily want to purchase fall stuff yet but still want to partake in it.I bet everyone and their moms knows this already but Starbucks have already put out their pumpkin spice lattes again and other fall related drinks and many other stores have fall related foods out as well. I bought these pumpkin spice donut mix from Sur La Table and my god they were amaze. Want a full post on them?? I also love drinking tea that is more fall esc like the apple cinnamon pictured above!
My last essential is adding fall colors back into your life: You can do this through your clothing or if you don't want to do that you can do that through painting your nails or through makeup. I love at this time to start painting my nails beautiful burgundies, dark blues, grey's, dark green. It really puts me in that fall mood without having to physically wear it. Or you can transition your make up to warm browns on the lid, darker lip shades like a berry, and more matte skin instead or glowing to the sun with highlighter.
That's all I have for now hope this helps put you in the mood for fall!
